Adults Learn to Sew Class #1 --Discovering your machine
Thursday May 7 from 5:30-7:30. If you have a sewing machine just sitting around or want to dust off yours in the basement, come and join us and learn how to use it. Learn to use your machine and start making stuff! All supplies are included in the cost. You can bring your machine or let us know if you need to borrow a shop model. You also need to bring thread or purchase it at the shop.

Join us from 5:30-7:30 to learn how to sew a straight line on fabric and turn that into a pillow case. It is recommended that you take the previous class on how to use your machine if you are totally unfamiliar with sewing utilizing a sewing machine. If you are familiar with show to thread and are comfortable with your machine, you are welcome to join us without taking a previous class

Building on what you learned in parts 1 and 2, we will guide you through choosing a fabric pack to make your first Sassy Sunflower Quilt. You will enjoy learning how to cut, pin and sew strips to make a lap sized quilt over the next few weeks. We will be doing the Quick Strip Quilt by Sassy Sunflower. This is offered on 2 Thursday evenings so you can complete this at your own speed. You don't have to come both nights and the cost is the same. If you already feel confident to start your first quilt, fell free to sign up also. This is a great starter pattern to advance your skills

Cake Dash--Using a pre cut Layer Cake
Use a Layer Cake with or without a background fabric to make this simple but dramatic quilt in sizes from baby quilt to King size!! This is a great beginner quilt! Join us Saturday May 23 from 10:30-2 pm This goes quickly so you should have some rows done before you leave. It is helpful to cut your fabric prior to arrival to get the most out of your sewing time.

Starting in March we will offer a monthly Block of the Month to complete Festival of Stars. You will be able to purchase a whole kit to work ahead if you like. We are offering this as a lecture/demo option as well as a 3 hour class session. There will be 7 sessions. Lecture/Demo is $5.00 per sessins and the Hands on Class is $20.00 per session.

This class focuses on the Sugar and Spice, Crown Jewels or Placemat patterns

Locking Stars
Join us on Tuesday June 16 or Saturday June 27 for "Locking Stars". This takes a very traditional Hunter's Star block and adds a fundamental block (think a version of the Four Patch) and creates an elegant looking quilt pattern. This has 3 size options. Bring a lunch or snack as this is a full day class. Refrigerator and microwave are available for your use.

The big 10" squares can be used for a table runner, potholders, wall-hangings or even a bigger style quilt. You will need to get the wonky 10" log cabin ruler but we have a ton of patterns to make other things with this ruler.
